New to rep buying? This complete W2C (Where to Cop) guide walks you through finding items, choosing an agent, understanding QC, and receiving your first haul safely.
What Does W2C Mean?
W2C stands for "Where to Cop" — it's the rep community's shorthand for asking where to find or buy a specific item. When someone posts a haul photo and other community members ask "W2C?" they're asking for the link or seller information.
In practice, W2C links are usually direct Weidian or Taobao product URLs that can be submitted to a shopping agent for purchase. The agent buys the item on your behalf, QCs it, and ships it internationally.
This guide is your entry point into that world: how to find W2C links, how to use them, and how to avoid the most common beginner mistakes.
Step 1: Finding Items to Buy
Your first job is finding what you want. For beginners, there are three approaches:
Use This Directory — browse by category, find items with real QC photos and community access data. Click "Buy on KakoBuy" to go directly to the agent page. This is the easiest starting point.
Browse Community Spreadsheets — r/FashionReps and r/Repsneakers have pinned spreadsheet links with curated GL items. More work to navigate but extremely comprehensive.
Search Reddit Directly — search "[item name] W2C" or "[item name] GL" on Reddit to find recent haul posts with purchase links. Best for specific items not in the spreadsheet yet.
- 1Decide what you want (specific shoe, hoodie, jersey, etc.)
- 2Search this directory or community spreadsheets
- 3Find an item with GL status and recent QC photos
- 4Note the Weidian ID or product link
- 5Choose your shopping agent
Step 2: Choosing a Shopping Agent
A shopping agent is the service that bridges you and Chinese marketplace sellers. They buy items on your behalf, inspect them (QC), and ship internationally.
For beginners, we recommend starting with KakoBuy — it has the clearest English-language interface, good support documentation, and a straightforward QC process. All purchase links in this directory route through KakoBuy.
Other options as you grow more experienced: CNFans, MuleBuy, OopBuy, AllChinaBuy. Each has different fee structures and shipping options — experienced buyers often maintain accounts on 2–3 agents for price comparison.
KakoBuy (Recommended for Beginners)
- Clear English UI
- Good QC photo quality
- Transparent fee structure
- Links from this directory
- Fewer carrier options than some competitors
- Slightly higher service fee on some items
CNFans (Advanced)
- Large user base
- Competitive fees at volume
- Good community familiarity
- UI less beginner-friendly
- Support response can lag on busy periods
Step 3: Understanding the Full Order Flow
Here's exactly what happens from clicking "buy" to receiving your package:
1. Submit order on agent — you pay the product price + agent service fee
2. Agent buys from Weidian seller — the seller ships to agent warehouse (2–7 days)
3. Item arrives at warehouse — agent logs and photographs your item
4. QC photos uploaded — you receive a notification to review
5. You approve or reject — if good, you proceed to shipping
6. Choose shipping carrier — pay international shipping fee
7. Package ships — tracking number provided
8. Customs processing — varies by country, typically 1–5 business days
9. Delivery — arrives at your door
Total timeline: 3–8 weeks for most orders. DHL can cut the warehouse-to-door phase to 5 days; budget lines can take 6 weeks.
Step 4: Reviewing QC Photos
QC photo review is where you decide if the item is worth shipping. For beginners, the key principle is: compare against retail reference photos.
Open the product's official retail page or a high-quality image in one tab. Open your QC photos in another. Compare systematically:
- Main colorway: does it match?
- Logo/text: placement, font, size
- Construction: visible stitching, glue, seams
- Tags: are they present and correctly formatted?
For your first order, choose something well-documented with recent community GL consensus. Don't start with a complex item that requires expert evaluation — begin with a straightforward hoodie or shoe that has hundreds of QC posts to compare against.
Post your QC photos to r/FashionReps for community feedback before approving — especially for your first few orders. The community is generally helpful to genuine beginners.
Common Beginner Mistakes to Avoid
Every new rep buyer makes mistakes. Here's how to skip the most expensive ones:
Ordering without checking GL status — buying an unreviewed listing is gambling. Wait for community verification.
Skipping size research — most rep items run slightly small, especially Asian-sized Weidian listings. Always check the spreadsheet notes and recent posts for sizing advice.
Not comparing against reference images — "looks good" isn't good enough for QC. Always compare against authentic reference photos.
Choosing the cheapest shipping and panicking — budget lines take 20–40 days. If you choose economy shipping, commit to the wait.
Ordering multiple expensive items for your first haul — start with 1–2 lower-cost items. Learn the process before committing to big orders.
